Sumya Paruchuri

Sumya Paruchuri is a youth advocate, movement leader, and student studying philosophy and public policy. Sumya proudly serves as the Organizing Director for SEAT, building coalitions, driving fundraising campaigns, and hosting community-based events to scale Texas' student movement for a seat at the table.

After attending SEAT Advocacy Day in 2024, Sumya mobilized students and saw firsthand the impact youth can have in policymaking and the decisions that affect them. This led to Sumya to join other local and statewide efforts to fight against discriminatory school policies and curriculum, unjust book bans, and advocated for mental health support that meets the needs of students—all drawing from Sumya's own lived experiences.

When Sumya is not trying to better the world, Sumya can be found spending time with friends, listening to Noah Kahan, reading philosophy books, or binging a TV show.
